For many years I have been doing very complex, tight drawings of flowers and border designs. This has worked well for my coloring pages and greeting cards. But when it comes to paintings, less is more. I'm having trouble restraining myself from adding a million little extras to my paintings. I haven't hit the right balance yet. I attribute this to my personality. I am always doing a million little things, flitting here and there, packing a lot into my day. I don't rush around, I just keep going, like the tortoise.
Here is my latest 8x10 inch oil on canvas - done in a day. I may go back when it is dry and glaze in some shadows. Stay tuned.
