My first step was to blow up one of my current designs to fit a 24x24 inch poster - something that would fit on a card table- and have it printed.
I was surprised at how difficult is is to find a printer who will make a large format print on uncoated paper for a decent price. Even this one, the cheapest I could find, was pricey. (You folks are going to have to pay more than you think for this - $20-22 -- at least at first until I find another source.)
Also, you can't see it in this photo, but the design is too open. It was designed for a small page and now, while it looks good from a distance, the elements are a bit large for coloring and the lines aren't as smooth as I would want.
SOOOOO... I decided I will simply have to create some designs scaled especially for this size.
Yesterday I got the bug in me about this and designed something large and complex.
Six movies and much hair pulling later, I finished my first large format design. ( I had to get up and dance between movies so my sit-bones didn't crack and fall off. Oooooo Ooooo Child, things are gonna get easier....)
It's pretty complex - perhaps a bit too much so. I 'm leaning toward offering different styles at different levels of complexity. In any case, I've begun this process. You may see a new one every once in a while. I will have them printed up once I have a half dozen designs - sometime this winter.
