Therapeutic Art Class: Creating Creatures from Paint Blots

We had fun today in the class I teach.  First we made paint blots using liquid acrylic ink.  Then, after about an hour of drying,  each person picked one that "spoke" to him and, using a black permanent marker, transformed it into a Creature.  A fun Halloween imagination activity.

Here are some of our paint blots:

And here are a couple of the Creatures:

  1. Love the paint blot creatures! I do a youth program at my church with middle school kids. I think they would love to try this. I know I want to try it myself.

  2. I'll be trying this with my class, too! Thanks for sharing your photos! :)

  3. Hello!

Was wondering if you would like to collaborate with us and review our products in exchange for some pieces of art for our social media! Let me know :)

  4. What kind of paper did you use?
