Red Flower - clayboard engraving (scratchboard)

I've decided to make some companion pieces to the blue flower so that I have a set of four 6x6 inch squares.  Here is my latest, along with it's development shots. You can't see it in these photos, but much of the yellow areas are done in iridescent gold ink to give it a little glow.

Here are the steps:  First I painted the images in colored ink.  I use Liquitex professional acrylic ink.

Then I began scratching out the design here.

Finally I added some diluted india ink to shade areas and scratched again.
