Inspired by: Barbara Moffi, feltmaker

Even though I've decided to put feltmaking aside for a while and focus on getting ready for the Open Studio Weekend, I was able to meet with Barbara Moffi, whose work is really stunning.  Originally from Canada, she began making felt when her mother became ill and she had to quit work to care for her. She needed to find something she could do at home that could be taken up or laid down as time permitted and when she went to a feltmaking workshop "the penny dropped."  Trained as a landscape architect, her love of nature now informs her craft.  She makes round, pouch-like purses lined with silk and decorated with leaves and flowers.
