Inspired by: Murals at the Boston Public Library

I have been away in Boston, enjoying the beautiful architecture, the array of boutiques on Newbury Street, the still dormant Public Gardens, Symphony Hall, and, as always, the gorgeous murals at the Boston Public Library.

There are two great sets of murals at the library. Most acclaim goes to the Christian-themed panels by famed painted John Singer Sargent.

My favorite, though, are the murals depicting the Quest for the Holy Grail by Edwin Austin Abbey (1852-1911.) I've included some images here but if you ever go to Boston, you should visit the Library at Trinity Square and relish them for yourself. The room is kept dark to preserve the paintings and they are high on the wall, so they are a bit difficult to see. Nevertheless, they are stunning.
